EGL College of Gemology was set up in 1982 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ever since, thw institution has spread its network to different parts of the world. The diamond industry worldwide has become one of the leading industries attracting people for its monetary success and vast job opportunities.
There was a time when the Gems and Jewellery trade circumvented only within family boundaries; entry for outsiders seemed only to be a far fetched dream. Today however, EGL has actually converted this dream of thousands of aspiring individuals into a reality.
An International Diploma from the lineage of EGL empowers each of its students with the knowledge, clarity and conviction to do justice to every element of every piece of gem and jewellery he touches. The EGL College of Gemology has opened its doors in India. Having centers in Mumbai and Delhi, the experience is now accessible to anyone who is interested in commencing a career in the exciting world of Gems, Diamonds and Jewellery.

Education
Jewellery Design
The course is set on international standards and includes both theoretical and practical sessions, out of which 20% is theory, and practical sessions cover 80% of the Jewellery Design course. We train our students to bring out their creativity and keep their design ideas flowing in the correct direction.

Computer Aided Designing
We at EGL have a computer designing program using Corel Draw X3. Clients, nowadays prefer computer-aided designing. The course helps to achieve accuracy in jewellery designing and teaches rendering which helps in better presentations of the designs.

Diamond Grading
At EGL, we teach students on how to use sophisticated equipments to learn the Diamond Grading Process. Every student is provided with a "learning kit" that includes all the required instruments required. This course has been designed to provide complete knowledge of polished diamonds and their distinguishing properties.
Join CourseApart from the above courses, we at EGL help ensure our students, a secure a job within the industry. The Employment Exchange Service (E.E.S), is one such program which was developed to help the various companies to hire qualified and well trained students. EGL doesn’t charge the student any fee for this service.
